Question 1

Is the check really free?

Accepted Answer

Yes. There's no charge and no card details. If your results show gaps and you'd like help fixing them, our team offers paid next steps at fixed prices (see the pricing page), but you don't have to take them.

Question 2

What do you need from me?

Accepted Answer

Your name, email, business name, and ideally your website, the town or area you serve and what you do. That lets us ask the questions your customers would ask.

Question 3

Which AI tools do you check?

Accepted Answer

ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity.

Question 4

How long does it take?

Accepted Answer

It isn't instant. We run the questions and put the results together, then a person reviews your check before we send it. That usually takes up to 2 working days, and we'll email you as soon as it's ready.

Question 5

Why does it matter what AI tools say?

Accepted Answer

More people now ask an AI assistant for a recommendation instead of scrolling a list of search results. The assistant usually names only a handful of businesses. If you're not one of them, that customer may never see you.

Question 6

Will the results be the same if I ask myself?

Accepted Answer

Not always. AI tools can give different answers to the same question, and answers change over time. Your check is a snapshot of what was said when we asked.

Question 7

Is this a ranking from OpenAI or Google?

Accepted Answer

No. Rank in Chat is independent and isn't connected to OpenAI, Google or Perplexity. "Rank" here means where your business appears in the answers we collected.

Question 8

Who is behind Rank in Chat?

Accepted Answer

Rank in Chat is a trading name of Trusted Media Agency Limited, a UK digital marketing agency based in Stamford, Lincolnshire.

Question 9

What happens to my details?

Accepted Answer

We use them to run your check and email your results. We only send marketing emails if you tick the optional box. See the privacy notice for the full detail.
