What we check
An honest look at what AI tools say when customers ask.
Here's exactly what's in a free check, and just as important, what isn't.
Which AI tools
ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity: three of the AI assistants people commonly use to ask for recommendations.
Which questions
Everyday customer questions for your type of business and area, for example "best [trade] near [town]" or "who should I use for [job]". We don't put your business name in the question, because customers don't.
Are you named?
Whether your business appears in each answer at all.
Where you place
When you're named: first suggestion, one of several, or a passing mention further down.
Who's named instead
The other businesses the AI tools suggest, so you can see who they favour.
What it says about you
Anything the answers say about your business that looks out of date or wrong, such as the wrong town or a service you don't offer.
What a check is not
- It isn't a guarantee of what any AI tool will say next time. Answers vary between askings and change over time.
- It isn't a full audit of your website or your Google rankings.
- It isn't an official score from OpenAI, Google or Perplexity. We're independent of them.
- It doesn't change anything for you. It shows where you stand today.
How results are shown
Green when you're named near the top, amber when you're named lower down, red when you're not named. The example here is made up so you can see the format. It is not a real business and not a real result.
