Who we are
Rank in Chat is a trading name of Trusted Media Agency Limited ("we", "us"), registered in England and Wales under company number 11108382, registered office Willoughby House (Office 7), 2 Broad Street, Stamford, PE9 1PG. Trusted Media Agency Limited is the controller of the personal data described in this notice.
To contact us about your data, write to us at our registered office, or reply to any email we have sent you and mark it "Privacy".
What we collect
- When you request a free check: your name, email address, business name, and if you give them, your website, the town or area you serve and what your business does. We also record whether you ticked the optional marketing box, the page you came from and any campaign tags in the link you used.
- When you browse the site: basic technical information such as your browser type and the pages you view. See our cookie notice.
- When you email us: your email address and anything you choose to tell us.
How we use it, and our lawful basis

To run a check we ask AI tools (ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity) questions about your type of business and area, and may look up your business name and website. We do not enter your name or email address into these tools.
Who we share it with
We don't sell your data. We use these service providers (processors), who act on our instructions:
- Base44: hosts this website and stores enquiries submitted through our forms.
- Microsoft 365: our email and business software, used to send you your results and reply to you.
Your enquiry may be handled by the Trusted Media Agency Limited team, including people who work on our other brands, so we can deal with it properly. We may also share data where the law requires it.
International transfers
Some of our providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on UK adequacy regulations or approved safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.
How long we keep it
- If you don't become a client: up to 24 months after our last contact with you, then we delete it.
- If you become a client: for as long as we work together, and afterwards for as long as the law requires us to keep business records.
- Marketing consent: until you withdraw it. We keep a note that you opted out so we don't contact you again.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of your data, to have it corrected or deleted, to restrict or object to how we use it (including objecting to marketing at any time), to data portability, and to withdraw consent at any time. To use any of these rights, contact us as above. We'll reply within one month.
Complaints
If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, please tell us first so we can put it right. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or on 0303 123 1113.
